I worked at Tyco full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Vacation, company vehicle, health benefits, field and local office staff first rate for now, putting customers last has created a wide open market for competition and several opportunities for long time experienced employees to find better employeers and work enviroments

Cons

heavy atmosphere of fear for job security, gossip, micro managing, short sited, no integrity, all that matters is month to month bottom line and reports which leads to managing in a knee jerk fearful manner

Advice to Management

start managing people and customers not the thousands of reports that come out daily on how to count a dollar 10 ways. Let the offices run without the multitude of redunant corporate overseers who get in the way trying to justify their high salaries and positions

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Tyco full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Experienced employees, some are experts in the field, but can be very negatively competitive.

    Cons

Bottom line driven, short sighted. If the company misses the target for a quarter, head count reduction is THE "solution". Leaders talk diversity, but there is zero diversity in the president and his direct reports.

    Advice to Management

Create a collaborative environment, promote teamwork, and truly walk the talk of diversity.
