Pros

very good pay. Exceptional work opportunity. I had the opportunity to work with top level management while in college and learned alot about working in the corporation.

Cons

the work could be more defined. I had alot of projects that I had to complete without a definite timeline.

Advice to Management

Very supportive of interns. I had the chance to work with very bright individuals who helped me learn everything there is to know.

    Pros

Busiest months are April - October making the day go by very quickly! Unlimited potential for growth - more responsibility is available through position changes resulting in higher rate of pay! Ability to sell used trucks for sales commission. Full time associates enjoy 401K, company stocks, full medical/dental/vision coverage for you and your family. Create a great rapport for yourself by always doing your best -customers feedback in unedited reviews is noticed and makes it easier to ask for that raise you deserve when the time is right!

    Cons

Assistant manager is expected to be there when the GM is not. GM working nearly bankers hours and no holidays leaving shift change coverage, never weekends or holidays off. Very difficult to meet numbers from previous year if the business is simply not there.

    Tight scheduling-
Hardest part of the job is when a customer does not return much needed equipment as per contractual agreement to accommodate the next family. Moving is stressful enough and it's hard to tell someone they don't have a truck or trailer despite a reservation because of the previous renters negligence to comply with returning on time.

    Advice to Management

Let assistant managers have at least quarterly managerial meetings at their MCO to discuss and address what they encounter.

Create more jobs for part-time drivers to bring all of our trucks and trailers northwards from the southern states where they land. A oneway trip to Florida is so expensive because all equipment piles up down there. More people are moving southward than up north! Keep prices lower for more people by creating this driver job criteria!

    Pros

I worked for the company for 7 years and actually loved the job. Working with the customers, U-haul centers and independent dealers always made for an interesting day. Full time employees were offered decent pay and benefits. All in all.... A great company to work for.

    Cons

Didn't have a "set" schedule. One week would be 7-4, the next 8-5 and then 10-7, with different days off each week and sometimes split.

U-haul customers are a different breed.. moving is stressful and it is usually very evident. A lot of customers were very "moody."
