I have been working at U-Haul full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Work from home opportunity if you have super fast Internet speed. The calls are diverse and can be interesting.

    Cons

They pay 8.25/hour. Training is silly and repetitive. Three different trainers contradict each other. Management is penalty based not reward based. My manager literally screamed at me accusing me of lying. I would have to wait for his tirades to end to be able to calmly explain my question or customer situation. My manager was unprofessional and almost illiterate when sending email.

    Advice to Management

Don't hire illiterate young people for management that can't handle the pressure and hate their jobs. Teach managers to have fun and give positive reinforcement.

I have been working at U-Haul full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Ample amounts of customer service experience.

    Cons

Low pay, no guaranteed pay increases, 1 full time employee per store, other staff work a maximum of 25 hours in an attempt to avoid the Affordable Care Act, significantly more responsibilities than your job title will describe(cleaning, auto and building repair, forklift operation, etc) zero support from upper management other than getting your job threatened every day over technicalities.

    Advice to Management

Show some loyalty to your staff in the form of full time work or decent wages and you'll attract more competent and devoted applicants. The cost in health care can't possibly be more than training someone new every 6 months and paying for the last person's unemployment for ~2 years.
