I have been working at U-Haul part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

you get to negotiate your schedule with your manager, some of the work is fairly simple. There is some chance of moving up in the company

Cons

The quality of training you get depends on the manager you get, that is if you get one. Most of the time, you will be working on your own. people quit often, so you may be working long hours and, if you don't have much automotive or customer service experience, you are looking at minimum wage for a salary

Advice to Management

Even though your a big company, and the competition is not that great, it is wise to try and invest a little more training and development into your csr's so that they can be the best they can be. otherwise, your customers will continue to get consistent sub par service across the board

I have been working at U-Haul part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great environment. There is a bond with all other U-Haul employees, regardless of their location or position. Scheduling is done by the manager and it's easy to get off on days that you need. I enjoy the work. U-Haul treats customers fairly and doesn't condition us to "up-sale" them to bigger trucks or more expensive insurance options like most rental companies.

    Cons

Very few opportunities for growth. Upper management positions are held onto for dear life. The only way a job opens up is if someone retires or dies. I have a 4-year degree and can't seem to find a better position than part-time/minimum-wage.

    Advice to Management

Make it easier to advance within the company, especially to those who put up solid numbers and generate customers.
