I have been working at U.S. Bank as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Downtown location.
Big firm that the outside world thinks is respectable.
Conservative nature kept them out of the mortgage mess.
Everyone works 8 hours a day and that is it.

    Cons

Zero technology to speak of, that goes for both infrastructure and computers and software. Seriously, it is not uncommon to see people staring at an old honking CRT monitor. There is a great divide between managers and regular employees with manager being at or over 50 years old. They tend to be technology averse which explains why the technology is not better. It also explains why they print everything, including emails, and have binders everywhere. The company is cheap and everyone knows it. Good luck finding any supplies in the supply room. Zero training and that includes keeping customer information safe which is appalling and a reason why I am switching to another bank for my personal finances. They rely heavily on contractors and thus there is no sense of belonging. Most employees are there because they need a job and will fly as soon as they get a better one. Lastly, management is riddled with crazy lunatics which in any normal company would be shown the door before they do something really stupid, not here though.

    Advice to Management

None, I highly doubt anything will change. Banking and finance is all about politics and power and upper management looks at the average worker as a pawn in their game. The large banks are 100 years behind when it comes to employee relations and they should be broken up into smaller pieces before they do more damage to society.

I have been working at U.S. Bank part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Steady pace job. Constant work to be done.

    Cons

Paycheck is inconsistent because of your sales. Mundane, boring, for the simple minded.
