I worked at U.S. Bank full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Uncapped bonuses, great management, room for growth, contests that include your family, amazing customers, great work/life balance. Pretty good starting pay.

Cons

Probably just the hours. Working at an in-store location you don't have banker hours. Not a lot of paid holidays off... Work on the 4th of July....(seriously) and Saturdays.

    Pros

    Good maternity leave, pension eligible after 3 years

    Cons

    No proper training for this position, cutting back and on number of employees in lower level positions and dumping all that work on the remaining lower level employees' desks and then we are constantly questioned why things haven't been completed.

    Advice to Management

    Hire the proper number of employees for the workload. Less upper management high salaried positions and hire more lower paid employees to actually get the work done properly without cutting corners.

    Pros

    As a corporation, better than average 401K, community involvement, diversity, and hours.

    Cons

    If your expectations are low, then you will not be disappointed. The retail area of US Bank is rampant with poor management, questionable ethics, and well below average pay. Sales expectations continue to increase with a lot of focus on finding "creative ways to sell". In other words, do not be truthful and find ways to get around procedure. Most branches definitely operate in a "gray area". Employees beware if you expect fair and impartial reviews, opportunities, and overall respect.

    Advice to Management

    Clean house! Use a different criteria to hire or promote for management other than sales numbers. The only way to keep quality employees is to at least make the pay comparable to your competitors. Restructure incentive plan to at least be attainable and reward accordingly. Constant turnover indicates a problem and ignoring the behaviors of all levels of mangement undermines the US Bank reputation in every community it serves.
