    No opinion of CEO

I worked at UBS as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

flexible hours, kind of friendly people, clean work environment, the pay was quite reasonable for a temporary position, yup yup yup

    Cons

unstructured program, not a lot of work to do or it was tedious and meaningless. People were serious, not very interactive. Office politics seemed intense. Too competitive, everyone working wayy too hard to stand out, no room for growth.

    Positive Outlook
    Approves of CEO

I have been working at UBS full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

A lot of smart, capable people working together to make things happen.

    Cons

Too much offshoring and the introduction of 'peer ranking' has made the performance rating and promotions a minefield of disappointment for many. Far too many compliance processes at Director level so much so that it's tough to get a normal job done.

    Advice to Management

Recognise that good technologists want t build good technology. Reducing the budgets so much just means the business still try to do the same IT work via bullying politics or by going for 'fudges'.
