I have been working at UBS full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Generally a meritocratic, collegiate culture.
Comp is competitive - i.e. not the highest, but not the main reason someone would leave.
Good flex benefits (UK), and general acceptance of informal flexible working - e.g. working from home one day a week plus if boiler needs repairing, etc
Aggressive business strategy, plus decent redundancy scheme for functions being downsized.
New HQ building coming on-line in London / Broadgate.

    Cons

Can be very hard to get a decision that sticks - feels like any decision can be reopened at any point.

IB has had lots of CEOs and strategies over past decade, which has led to lots of disjointed decision making, and hire/fire cycles. e.g. UBS has entered and exited commodities three times.

Lots of operational incidents over past years has impacted reputation of the firm (IB and wealth management).
