I worked at UC Davis full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits. Lots of training opportunities

    Cons

I worked at other places in the UC system and I found UC Davis to be the most mediocre of the ones I have worked. I found most of my colleagues are very adverse to any change whatsoever. They are mostly interested in maintaining the status quo and riding out the days til they can collect their pensions. You just don't feel inspired to excel like you might at some of the other top tier UC's and rather are encouraged just to keep things the way they are even if it is a wasteful and inaccurate way to work. Additionally the summers are intensely hot.

    Advice to Management

Hire consultants to come in and review workflows and staff contributions. A lot of the long timers are pretty much dead weight interested in just doing the minimum.
