I have been working at UC Irvine full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Good quality of life, nice campus and people, flexibility with your schedule depending on your department.

Cons

Budget cuts, no recent raises and lots of challenges with limited resources. Hard to get promoted/raises.

Advice to Management

Recognize talent and compensate for it, or you'll spend more money trying to replace the good people you already have.

I have been working at UC Irvine full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Lots of different research groups and lots of opportunities to learn new skills and techniques.

    Cons

Like any graduate program, picking an advisor may be a bit of a crap shoot.

    Advice to Management

There needs to be more oversight and accountability. Egos aside, favortism is just not conducive for a working environment. Communication is key.
