I have been working at UCLA part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It was really hands on and gave me a lot of opportunity to learn and grow on my own. My boss gave me a chance to plan multiple larger events and although it was difficult, it was extremely fun.

    Cons

I had very little guidance. Most of the time I had to figure it out by myself. At the time, I work with two other part-time students to make sure all our events pulled through. I went in being told I only needed to work 10-12 hours a week but ended up being there more so than going to class so I could get things done. After a year, I decided to leave along with the other two part-time students and I heard they then decided to hire four additional people (three of which are full time workers ) to do the work that the three of us did. I felt underpaid and overworked.

  2. "Poor protection of research & intellectual property"

    Access to research resources.
    Nice campus.

    Cons

Institutional protection of intellectual property fails.

    Advice to Management

Protect graduate student work and discourage faculty dishonesty -- right now, you do the opposite.
