          Pros

          - Depending on the lab or department, there are multiple opportunities to learn and grow - Work is interesting and feels meaningful (most of the time) - State benefits

          Cons

          - Academia breeds big egos and the "I'm more important than you" mentality, it will tear you down if you don't have thick skin - Lab/department specific, but lack of leadership leads to a lot of micromanaging by peers - Workload can be high and limited opportunities for support are supplied (if any)

        What do u say during the first interview with the recruiter when they ask for salary expectations? If I get the offer and it is what I asked them for in the first interview, is it wrong if I negotiate for more?

        Hey, I have been applying since last 25 days but did not get any single interview call from any of the interviewers. I have been using personalized cover letter and resume for all job posting of Security Engineer. Not sure what should I do! Any tips would be highly appreciated :)

        Senior Consultant

        I just finished a second round interview. I think it went well. I have a question if the interviewer towards the end asks personal questions like favorite sports team and other non work related questions. Is that a good sign? They didn’t mention anything about next steps at the end. They hadn’t in the first round either the recruiter reached out to my surprise for the second round.
