I have been working at UNC Health Care full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Management supportive on units, upper management out of touch with realities of patient care. Opportunities for advancement.

    Cons

Health benefits awful considering you are working in their system and using their facilities and treatment providers. Poor teamwork and morale on units. Benefits and compensation overall not competitive to other large University Healthcare provider in area.

    Advice to Management

Front line management does their best to advocate and care for their staff. Highest level management keeps making cuts in benefits and adding additional expenses to employees (such as new required fee for night shift parking) all while yearly raises do not keep up with cost of living and are each year are threatened they won't be available at all. Many of the aforementioned are making well over 6 figures here and have significantly better benefits, healthcare, retirement, etc. It's the lower and middle class of this company that pays their salaries.
