I have been working at UPS part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great work experience because you'll face many different scenarios that you won't get from other company's. You'll definitely know what it's like to be "thrown in the fire." Employee discounts are pretty good.

    Cons

Raises are a joke unless you're liked, or kill the numbers. Production goals used in the Quality Performance Review are too high in some areas so most p/t sups won't hit their target goals for an average. This is one of the ways that they keep raises down. Unfortunately all the centers have the same goals even though it's a lot easier to make your numbers in certain centers than others. And if you happen to beat your numbers for this year you have to beat those numbers next year and so on... Management move around a lot so there's always a new "flavor of the day" on what they want...no uniformity.

    Advice to Management

Quit running the company like it's going out of business! You have supervisors covering 2-3 positions and doing it in one shift. Either promote more sups, or pay them for the extra time they work instead of looking the other way.
