I worked at UPS part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The hours were very early 4-830am but it left the rest of the day wide open. The benefits were not bad either

    Cons

It was very repetitive just the same exact thing day after day. It grew to be tiresome.

    Advice to Management

when employees are on call it should be the managements jobs to let the employee know if they are working rather than having the employee call everyday.

I have been working at UPS full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

UPS provides some great benifits in terms of health care and post retirement (not for new employees though). This motivates lot of the existing employes to stay with the company. Also, this company is very strong on ethics and moral values.

    Cons

Lack of growth and opportunities. This is a company with reactive efforts primarily. Not much change is seen in general. Not a great choice for fresh college grads (strictly speaking of the IS department). The IS department is managed as a cost center. Hence there are hardly any budget and opportunities for trying new products/process.
