I have been working at UPS part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

ALL Carrots. Higher pay in the beginning. Turns into less pay over all.

If your female and have a college degree work at UPS that's the #1 priority for them more women making $33.40 an hour + best benefits package ever. Or in high management positions.

    Cons

Female get promoted on the basis of their sex, not merit.
Stuck in a part time supervisor position. No advancement. Unfair policies and politics in the management ranks. Yu would have to experience it to believe it.
No recourse for getting hammed over. No grievance policy, rock the boat as management and your fired.
The fact its not unique for a PT supervisor to be in this stuck position. Several of my colleagues feel the same.
I regret going into UPS part time management I would have had better chances of success if I had stayed in the union ranks.

    Advice to Management

Part time supervisor normally are from the union ranks. Employees get pulled aside and told
'' your doing a hell of a job we think you would make a great PT supervisor". The starting pay is more the benefits come sooner. Essentially the cream gets pulled into PT management. While the rest stay in the union (must be the smart ones). Over the last two years I get paid less than the union. My benefits cost went up. I can't get promoted because I never have the right experience or degree. Yet I am evaluated as a strong performer in my job. But while the cream gets stuck in PT jobs they excel at. The ones who stayed in the union get $33.40 an hour jobs for being slackers.
