I have been working at US Air Force full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Medical benefits, family oriented, great experience, can be a career, travel

Cons

Recalls, work schedules, power hungry individuals,

Advice to Management

Not to be so power hungry. We have management that wants to control everything and be apart of everything. It really brings down morale because they think they choose what is best when really it's hurting everyone.

I have been working at US Air Force full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great learning experience! If I got one thing out of working at DGS-1, it was that I was given amazing training to use for a higher paying job in the civilian sector.

    Cons

VERY stressful environment. 25/7 OPS. Leadership that does nothing to boost moral.

    Advice to Management

Moral has gone down hill massively and very rapidly in the last 5 years. The troops do not feel like they are being taken care of or even cared about. Most single Airmen are forgotten about when it comes to holidays, and they are the ones that end up working working all of the holidays that those with families do not. There are many different squadrons that all fall under the 480th Wing, but they cannot all be treated the same. The 10th IS is simply the squadron that services all others...BUT even though the 10th is what makes everything 'go', they are constantly treated as the outcasts, so why should they be FORCED to participate in Wing functions? All together, leadership/upper management should be paying attention to their people and not just acepting "we're fine for an answer" when everyone is talking about how bad the job is behind your backs.
