I have been working at US Air Force full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Great benefits ... fairly secure, though the two furloughs last year didn't help.

Cons

Not a lot of promotion opportunities. Have to fight for developmental education and training

Advice to Management

Empower your employees more -- give them the resources and clear direction they need, then give them the flexibility to execute.

    Good Benefits, Good chance to get out an see the world an learn new cultures.

    Cons

    Having to take a test to make rank/more money even though you could be the best at your job, but being a bad test taker can hinder you an could also cause you to be forced out the air force.

    I have been working at US Air Force full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    good training, benefits, vacation time, chance to explore many countries/cultures. Depending on your career field, it can greatly help a career on the outside. Retirement benefits are pretty good too. Free education

    Cons

    hours can be long and you may spend many months/years away from family. Lack of flexability. Pay is straight across the board.
