    Pros

The pay was good. Benefits are great! Ability to learn something new as your time and rank progress. Deployments and time in the field are fun!

    Cons

Little time for family. Army life is very much like socialism/communism. You really don't have very many choices. Healthcare benefits cover everything but the quality sucks. Some of the people you work with, including NCOs, are incompetent. Everyone is concerned with achieving the next rank and most just kiss butt to get it. Garrison life sucks. I cant count the number of hours I spent picking up cigarette butts waiting for someone to come back from a 10 hour meeting to release my unit to go home.

    Advice to Management

Start using common sense. Promotions should be done by work ethic rather than who's lips are the biggest. And stop wasting soldier's time. Instead of having them sit around all day waiting for the commander and 1sgt to come back from a meeting how about releasing them to their families. Its nice to spend time with the wife and kids before a year long deployment.
