    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at US Army full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Pension is offered - a rarity in this day and age.

    Cons

Stimulating research environment, but subject to obtainment of annual funding (i.e., grants) so long-term security is a risk. Many contract employees who operate under different employment rules - creates a feeling of tension between civilian and contract employees (perception of a lack of equality).

    Advice to Management

Provide clear, consistend, transparent personnel policies (e.g., salaries, flex-time, vacation, comp-time, etc) and stop leaving major policy decisions to individual supervisors; some supervisors are fair and others use their power punitively.

I have been working at US Army full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Plenty of work. Plenty of OT. Interesting job assignments with a wide variety in day to day assignments.

    Cons

LONG commute, shift is 4/10s. In my job, 48 hr shifts would make MUCH more sense. Government Union and HR policies make it difficult to dismiss employees who are not a good fit for the organization. Management span of control is inadequate 1Supervisor/12 personnel.

    Advice to Management

Move to 48 hour shifts. Create 2 additional supervisors to bring span of control within standard NIMS/ICS guidelines.
