I have been working at US Army full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Work hard and it's easy to standout. Promotion opportunties were above average until Congress became unable to pass a budget. Recently began to institute morale boosting programs such as telework and rotational assignments.

    Cons

Red tape. Under performing employee's are difficult to get rid of.

    Pros

Its great way to start a career after the military if you pick a job that easily transitions. You learn how to be responsible and have integrity.

    Cons

You will tend to have superiors who let rank get to their heads even though you know more than they do. Some superiors will treat you as a child and some may even take advantage of lower enlisted to make themselves look better.

    Advice to Management

Take advise from lower enlisted because they are the ones doing the dirty work and see the true consequences.
