I have been working at US Army full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Able to contribute to supporting deployed soldiers by ensuring that they have the equipment and training they need while fighting a war. Job satisfaction is very high.

    Cons

Pay is not great compared to private sector counterparts. Opportunity for advancement is not great either. Very much a sweatshop mentality, very little opportunity for personal growth.

    Pros

Work hard and it's easy to standout. Promotion opportunties were above average until Congress became unable to pass a budget. Recently began to institute morale boosting programs such as telework and rotational assignments.

    Cons

Red tape. Under performing employee's are difficult to get rid of.
