I have been working at US Army full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Meeting people from all walks of life, traveling the all over the world. Work with some of the most interesting people. Always training, learning more about how to be a leader, a mentor and a student.

Cons

Having to be away from family for up to a year, sometimes longer. Long days, no overtime, starting pay is not the best. Not always welcomed in the different countries you are sent to.

I have been working at US Army full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Job security
Guaranteed salary on the 1st and the 15th
    Promotions

    Cons

Dealing with the run-of-the-mill, everyday job. We aren't always saving the world, so to speak.
Being blamed for others' shortcomings. As a leader, especially as a Non-Commissioned Officer, it falls on me if my Soldiers are unable, incapable or unwilling to complete a task.
