I have been working at US Army full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The U.S. offers camaraderie unique to military service, technical skills that can be acquired, scholarship opportunities for college students, and excellent benifets.

    Cons

However, frequent travel away from home and pending budget cuts which reduce opportunities for advancement are currently having a negative impact on the work experience.

    Advice to Management

One suggestion is to restructure professional development to include more interactions with civilian counterparts, additionally allow for technically advanced junior leaders to excel in there skill set without sacrifice their key development requirements (i.e. more broadening assignments that don't negatively impact promotion considerations)
