I have been working at US Army full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

College and advanced educational degrees paid for by US Army
Best Retirement system of any country in the world

Cons

Family time interruptions
Limited promotion potential in the upcoming years
No fiscal rewards for exceptional service

Advice to Management

Be fair but decisive in your evaluations of your subordinates, not everyone can be above the standard, and some are better served with the evaluation they earned. Set the expectations early and guide with counseling during the rating period.

    Pros

    Great job security,you will be in great physical shape. You will go up in rack if keep nose clean and put in time.

    Cons

    The hours sometimes are long,you see a lot of things that make you wonder does Army have leaders who graduated high school.

    Advice to Management

    You need to take care of the people who are underyou, they will take care of you.
