I worked at US Army full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Learn skills that can help you in many parts of your life, especially when returning to the civilian workforce.

    Challenging, yet rewarding.

Very diverse people, who mostly get along or learn to get along due to the demands of the job.

Structured lifestyle is great for people who want to develop a good foundation for themselves.

Free room and board, various bonuses, and potential to be promoted based on ability to perform mediocre work, while knowing who's rear-end to snuggle up to.

    Cons

Potential for dismemberment, death, and lasting physical and mental disorders.

You are now property, with reduced liberties than before you took your oath.

You will have to learn to deal with having your feeling hurt, so if you are sensitive this applies.

    Advice to Management

Investigate complaints of medal chasing officers and SNCOs. They put the lives of their men at risk all too often for a little bit of ribbon and a small hunk of metal.

  2. "Diversified"

I have been working at US Army full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Diversified assignments, great working experience, encouragement for personal and professional development, opportunities for promotions, are a few of the great benefits of serving in the Army.

    Cons

Although there are not many negative aspects of serving in the Army, repeated deployments are one of my main complaints about the Army.
