    I have been working at US Army full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great leadership experience. Good pay. Retirement benefits after 20 years of service. Travel at least every 2-3 years see different places.

    Cons

    After command, staff job for the rest of your career unless selected for Battalion or Brigade command. Possible deployments. I spent the past 5 out of 7 years overseas. Some assignments are unaccompanied, no family allowed. Hard to sustain a family or marriage.
