I worked at US Census Bureau as a contractor

    Pros

Great pay for those who want temporary work. Fun job, with great co-workers.

    Cons

Hiring is based on test scores, and managers are hired before the pool of applicants is very large, so they can be among the least competent in the office. Everything is set up to be temporary, so office operations are not always smooth/experienced. They waste tons of time, paper, and energy... as you would expect out of a government bureaucracy.

  2. "Collaborative mix of people from various backgrounds"

    Neutral Outlook

    Pros

The atmosphere was always friendly and never did I regret having to go to work. Hours were flexible based on whatever other commitments you had. The daily tasks were rarely monotonous.

    Cons

Deadlines always seemed to be met at the last minute even after overtime from employees. There was a lot of confusion from supervisors over what goals needed to be met on a day to day and week to week basis.
