    Pros

Training, opportunity, and people are invaluable. The benefits are great and the environment was comfortable.

Open jobs available, but many retire and positions open up. Not a ton of growth but there is room.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at US Coast Guard full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Real, meaningful work, including saving lives, protecting property, maritime security, environmental stewardship. Small office, so everyone has a chance to contribute in multiple ways, and you can develop and stretch skills and experiences.

    Cons

Underfunded. Understaffed. Always having to make tough trade-offs between worthy demands on limited resources.

    Advice to Management

Be more clear about the precious few priorities, and communicate them often, as it seems they change frequently, depending upon the political climate.
