Cons
Department runs like an organized crime family - made men/women and soldiers. Kiss the ring and do what you’re told or face the consequences - very political top down management.

Pros
There are many kind and hardworking people at DHS HQ.
Cons
DHS did not meet agreements made when offering the position. Cannot recommend an organization that does meet its obligations. DHS management regularly gave credit to others for my work and would use my work to establish expectations across the organization; later showing me copies of my own work when claiming that my work didn't match the quality of my work credited to another. DHS management assigned me responsibility to manage a task management system while not allowing me to attend the associated meetings. Later held accountable for not updating systems with information I did not receive.
