Positive Outlook

I have been working at US Department of Veterans Affairs full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Learn a lot as you have the opportunity to move within the company quiet a bit.

Cons

It is federal government, so what they say goes. You are on a contract basis that you have to more or less fulfill. Also, you may get moved to other states which you may or may not like. Also, work hours can be at times too much as too many projects may get assigned.

Advice to Management

Keep it Simple.

I have been working at US Department of Veterans Affairs part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

VA has good benefits (retirement, salary).

    Cons

When VA leadership comes to know about cronyism, they do absolutely nothing as they did with repeated complaints. Instead, they bend over backwards to protect their own. If you are a whistleblower, you are wasting your time even if a veteran was overlooked for a job because the hiring official wants an an inept intern to get the job over a veteran. VA just doesn't care. What happened to veterans first?

    Advice to Management

Investigate matters when it is brought to your attention.
