    I have been working at US Department of Veterans Affairs full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Faculty are skilled at connecting fellows with the broader research community. Ample opportunities to apply for junior investigator level grants. Grant funding rate is much higher in the VA than at NIH.

    Cons

    VA restrictions on travel create obstacles to sharing your research and networking at professional conferences.

    Advice to Management

    Remove unnecessary barriers to travel for scientific conferences and trainings.
