I have been working at US Department of Veterans Affairs full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I would suggest this position to anyone who wants to hone their Customer Service skills and Tier II levels of experience. The people here are willing to assist and they have money to send you to most classes.

    Cons

On the other hand, procedures can be a roadblock sometimes. Its hard not to install software for new user because their paperwork hasnt been approved as of yet. Helping people do their job is something I take pride in and being held back because of a minor formality can be frustrating.

    Advice to Management

The people doing the actual implementations may be your best resource. Use that in a way that would make communication flow freely and unimpeded from top to the lowest man on the team.
