I have been working at US Department of Veterans Affairs full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good coworkers. Leadership is very approachable and they do value feedback. Great knowing that the work you do is for the service of our veterans. Atmosphere isn't cut throat and generally supportive. Able to take on multiple responsibilities without backlash. Awesome benefits. Open to new ideas. Good job security.

    Cons

Government employee, so the pay is pretty low. Some of the processes are kind of inefficient and could use more automation via technology. General bureaucracy. Hiring was extremely slow and took months after interview to find status.

    Advice to Management

Good job so far. Try to find ways to limit bureaucracy and politics, so that we can improve current systems with greater ease.

I worked at US Department of Veterans Affairs part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Total satisfaction of assisting Veterans of past & present

    Cons

Becoming emotionally attached to any Veteran suffering from any Terminally Ill conditions that will soon end their life and watching the pain in the immediate family's eyes.

    Advice to Management

Keep Up The Good Health Care for Our Veterans
