I worked at US International Trade Administration as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great mentoring from senior staff. Great opportunity to touch multiple industries in market research. Great way to meet people with diverse international working experience.

    Cons

There are very few cons that come to mind. The only con I can think of is the strong and defined hierarchical structure which can leads to less expression of individuality.

    Advice to Management

If I had one piece of advice to management, it would be to encourage cross-functional interaction and sharing of ideas. I have little to add, great work environment and great experience.

I worked at US International Trade Administration as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Can familiarize yourself with the job environment in the federal government
    Everyone there was really nice
I performed the tasks of regular employees so I understood the operation of ITA really well

    Cons

Tasks were typically boring, it was more like writing/summarizing information and managing events than any exciting economic/political analysis
The way tasks/functions are handled are many times inefficient but are still followed. It doesnt allow for improvement in efficiency or creativity
