I have been working at US Marine Corps part-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Working for the Marines brings me lots of pride and joy knowing I am serving my country. Great benefits and VA help in the future. Also you can go to school for free and get a little extra money for bills aswell

Cons

Long hours, deployments, and not being able to spend holidays and birthdays and wedding anniversary with the family is a huge con. But its worth it in the end.

I have been working at US Marine Corps as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The part about being a Marine is the brotherhood behind it. This organization is more then a job, it is a way of life. a wonderful life.

    Cons

The downside of this wonderful organization is the long work hour that you may have to endure but once you understand the reasoning for the overall mission and the importance that you hold, it is well worth the time.

    Advice to Management

The one thing you have to understand is that all leaders are different and this maybe hard for the lower ranking personal to grasp initially because there is a consent change of management along with some adjusting for everyone underneath.

a good opportunity to gain life experiences, and build a financial base. also an exceptionally efficient means to make contacts, growing a circle and securing jobs for professional development.

    Cons

isolation, high physical and mental demand, however, this is should not be considered a suitable environment for those opposed to change, or those without a dynamic mind and malleable character.
