I have been working at US Marine Corps full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Pride, camaraderie and esprit de corps. Being able to mentor and mold young, inexperienced individuals in a positive manner.

Cons

Rapid deployments or long periods away from family and loved ones. Dealing with fluctuating budgets, manpower shortages and "doing more with less".

Advice to Management

Treat each incident separately and get to the sources of problems. Don't take anything second hand.

I have been working at US Marine Corps full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The few, the proud, the Marines... If this line doesn't give you the chills, then maybe the Marines is not for you. You will be joining the most elite fighting force in the entire world, and that alone should make you want to become a Marine.

    Cons

You will have to do the grunt work in the beginning like you would at any other job. If you're not good with people and you're scared of managing subordinates who are 200+ pounds, then you won't be a good fit.
