I have been working at US Marine Corps full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Leadership Development
    Personal Growth
    Education Benefits
    Mentorship for younger Marines
Great network for the rest of your life
    Challenging organization

    Cons

Mentorship and personal growth ends after 10 years. There comes a point where personal growth starts to wane and the challenges become the same no matter what level you are at. Senior officers rarely mentor and after a while are in it for themselves.

    Advice to Management

Judge promotions based on leadership vice yes men. Do not get in the way of the young Marines these are the folks that we tend to get right and return to society.
