I have been working at US Marine Corps full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

Sense of camaraderie, discipline, ability to work with highly motivated and skilled individuals. Life experiences are crammed into each year. I have been able to travel all of the world, and learn from many different cultures. The team mentality is outstanding. The ability to be a contributor and mentor to junior Marines' development is extremely satisfying.

Cons

Extremely busy, and the job always has to be the top priority in life. Must be prepared to move at any time and take any job that is assigned. Constant training and multiple deployments do take a toll on personal and family life.
