Pros

The United States Marine Corps will instill in you a sense of belonging and a sense of purpose. You will always feel like you are part of something bigger than yourself.

Cons

Sometimes the rank hierarchy can be burdensome and slow things down a bit. All in all most Officers and Senior Enlisted aregoog people with the best intentions. There are unfortunately some who let it go to their heads.

Advice to Management

Love your Marines as a father loves a son or daughter and you will never go wrong.

I have been working at US Marine Corps full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Work life balance, benefits, AWS (Alternate Work Schedule)

    Cons

No morale, lack of career development, bureaucratic, old workforce and no training. This place is not for young professionals graduating from college with career aspirations. Budget cuts and furloughs will continue to destroy morale among the agency.

    Advice to Management

Hire people who want to make a difference to serve the warfighter.

  2. "Very tough lifestyle. High level of commitment is needed."

I have been working at US Marine Corps full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Camaraderie, friendships, travel. Lots of different resources available to help yourself and your family, although they are hard to find sometimes.

    Cons

Outdated equipment in all areas, underfunded, hostile work environments. Most of the people that get promoted only did because they stayed in long enough, not because they were the most qualified. You could have a very bad leader and because it is the Marine Corps you have to do everything he says without question. Even if he is an idiot.

    Advice to Management

    Work smarter, not harder
