I have been working at US Navy full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

I have had the opportunity to serve with some of the best people in our nation. Naval aviation is where I have served. No where else will you be able to mold 200 naval technicians and be responsible for 12 Super Hornet while in combat. Your life is what you make it.

Cons

Being away from home is tough. However, when you step off the ship and are immersed into different cultures you are amazed.

Advice to Management

Listen to your people. Never assume you know everything or ever decision that you make is always the best one. Talk it over with your other managers and chew on it for a while. Once you weigh the pros and cons then you're ready to make the best decision.

I have been working at US Navy full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great training and you experience cultures in a way you can't understand by going on a vacation. You will make life long friends and you earn a free education.

    Cons

Horrible leaders and an out dated advancement system.

    Advice to Management

Open you mind to new ideas. Lead from the front and get your hands dirty more often. Your rank does not earn you personal respect only respect of rank which will erode as soon as you turn your back.
