    I worked at US Navy full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    You get to see the world, make friends for a lifetime and have the responsibility of a employee well beyond his or her years. People who work hard with good supervisors are heavily rewarded for their efforts.

    Cons

    There is a lot of work, difficult work and it is always changing. Sometimes you end up with incompetent supervisors who fail to put in 100% effort.

    Advice to Management

    Change retention tactics to methods which actually maintains hard chargers and truly cracks down on the non-performers.
