    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at US Navy full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Ability to excel with little effort. Great benefits for the work that is required (education, health care, retirement). One of the best organizations for diversity. Its assets are in its people.

    Cons

Military has the worst work/life balance. Sea duty is very difficult for family life. Bureaucratic to the core, which is necessary, but hinders the overall mission. Ability to work for unqualified leader who just 'put the time in'

    Advice to Management

Promote superstars sooner, fire under-performing leaders. Replace promotion system (eval + tests) with a system based off of sailor qualification and ability to do job.
