I worked at US Postal Service part-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

work independently. I loved being in the office with my coworkers, we helped each other if needed, then I loved being out on the road by myself and listening to my radio as I drove from box to box.

Cons

no benefits, unless you became a career employee as others quit or retired. The hardest part of the job was not knowing how long each day would be, you worked until it was all delivered, and having to work every Saturday. You are classified as part time, but work six days a week. Our management was constantly changing.

    Pros

    - Good salary and benefits
    - Good opportunities to and demonstrate management and leadership skills.
    - Good opportunities to affect change.

    Cons

    - Currently being subsidized by the Federal Government to maintain viability...revenues do not cover both operations and s&b due to electronic divergence, esp. with 1st class mail.

    Pros

    decent salary and decent benefits . Used to be a company you can count on but that does not seem to be the case these days. Other then salary I am pretty soured on entire culture.

    Cons

    lots of processes but no real thinking or innovation. You'll have logs for your logs for your reports,etc... All pretty much to CYA your bosses but no innovation or real drive.

    Advice to Management

    stop with all the multiple reports and the promotion of friends without real skill
