Negative Outlook
No opinion of CEO

I worked at US Postal Service as a contractor (More than 3 years)

Pros

Freedom of working outside the office. Good pay and benefits for regular employees. A good group of hard working people who care about each other and the community.

Cons

Management needs a makeover. It sometimes has the feeling of a military boot camp instead of a normal company that utlizes professionalism. There isn't any accountability for when management abuses his/her "power". Pay for CCAs doing the same job(or more) as carriers, is too low

Advice to Management

Learn how to treat your employees with respect and they will be more productive. Low moral equals a negative work environment.

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at US Postal Service part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good pay....some of the people are nice

    Cons

Everything. Definitely not an equal employment opportunity company. Especially if you're a new hire. They tell you you'll become a regular after your first contract ends, will not happen. Nobody has answers to anything whatsoever. If you are at the bottom of the totem pole, they treat you like it.

    Advice to Management

Learn something about people, not robots.

I have been working at US Postal Service full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Union shop, guaranteed step increases, rarely manadatory overtime.

    Cons

If there are some staff that want to make things better, there are superiors ensuring that it won't happen. Christmas is a mandatory overtime timeframe.

    Advice to Management

Use common sense when dealing with people. When you make a mistake, own up to it. If you watch the backs of your personnel, they will watch yours.
