I worked at UT Southwestern Medical Center full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are many pros to working at UT-Southwestern. Some of my top are: amazing benefits, decent amount of time off, good working environment, friendly co-workers, and an excellent management team. Small perks include good on-site food vendors, ease of access from the highway, and proximity to downtown.

    Cons

Salaries start low, and while I got consistent, small raises, the pay isn't as good as industry. But benefits/time off compensate for much of this.

I have been working at UT Southwestern Medical Center full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

This is a great place to work if you want a career as a research technician or assistant. Great benefits and retirement plan.

    Cons

If you want a career in research then get experience in college and apply to grad school. Don't spend years as a tech or assistant. It is a waste of time and you will not get credit for any of the work that you do.
