I have been working at Uber as a contractor (Less than a year)

Pros

Meeting great people, making money weekly and getting paid weekly. I love the concept and the customers seems to love it as well.

Cons

Canceled rides after you get there and not getting paid for them. Long weekend hours to really make a decent wage. High weekly expenses like gas, oil, etc. Plus mileage you are putting on car. The rating system is really one sided because customers will aways get picked up even with bad rating, drivers need the money.

Advice to Management

Improve the rating system and give drivers an opportunity to give feedback about certain rides. Add additional choices to the cancellation or allow a typed in response for other.

I have been working at Uber as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Not many - you don't have a micromanager over you, that is about it

    Cons

They lie in order to get drivers by promising a lot more money than you can make. They are building their business off of lies, deceit and they probably have very high turnover in Orlando. Their ad said that Uber drivers in Orlando were making 1000 dollars a week. You cannot make even half that, or even $300-350 even if your on 24 hours a day. Most cannot even make a quarter of that. Of course they are not going to be honest in telling people that drivers could maybe make 250.00 per week, IF they are in the right place at the right time and working 60 hours. 200 dollars a week is about what you can make full time in Orlando. Its a waste of your nice car, gas and time. Customers slam your doors, and give you reviews that are not fair, even when you are perfect. On top of that you end up running calls most of the time very short distances for like 4 dollars. Its one gigantic scam. Its okay for the consumer, very bad for the driver. If you don't to want to waste your time, don't drive for them. You will regret it.

    Advice to Management

Stop telling lies about how much money you can make, you know you are lying. Up your prices, and take less so the driver can actually make it worth their time. You expect a nice car, but your not willing to compensate your drivers. Also, your making lots of money, but you only correspond through email. Quit being greedy, and actually hire someone who the drivers can call.

I have been working at Uber as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Make up your own hours. Be your own Boss. Work where ever.

    Cons

Uber will nickel and dime you. Sometimes does not even pay on time.
You work long hours and watch your paycheck diminish after all the commission and expenses. Vehicle gets trashed, rack up milage. I can go on and on... Not really worth it. Better off working at McDonalds or Walmart. But if you really need to feed a fam, than try it. But don't give up on the J.O.B search like me :(

    Advice to Management

You suck Uber team!!! with your shady behind the computer communication through email. Silly keyboard warriors.

Drivers are getting raped and royally screwed by your recent high commission and low fares.
