    Pros

You can work your own hours.

    Cons

Terrible training. They could do more. No tips. You have to inform riders that you do not accept tips. When I started, I was informed that there is a 20% tip automatically included in the riders app which is adjustable by the rider but on my first payment there was no tips because uber has disabled the tips in the riders app. There five star rating system also needs fixed. There ratings is 1 to 5. Five being the best. Uber does not inform there customers that 4 star rating gets the driver fired. A 5 rating can only be maintained if your picking up the right passengers. Some never give a 5 rating and some people always give a 5 rating. A gave every passenger but one a 5 rating. On my last trip before I was deactivated, I had a 4.56 rating which personally I am proud of. I was deactivated for my rating. That rating does meet my own expectations. The five rating is perfect and the 4 rating is driver fired, What is the use of the 1, 2 and 3 star rating. To get the driver fired faster. Also uber likes you to ask the passenger if they have a specific route they want to follow. I discovered people complain about it. I always talked to the passenger about the route. Unless your really quick with directions, you will not do well here. Most customers want to quickly give you a address and just sit there while the driver drives it which in most cases is possible. Most riders do not input there destination address into the app which makes this harder. Also uber charges a $1 fee to every customer and takes 20% of the fare. First they take the 20% and then second they take there $1 fee. Which is backwards. Uber should take there $1 first and then the 20%. Over $5 dollars extra out of every driver for uber. Last weekend they held a Halloween incentive guaranteeing $35 per hour for every driver who drives 15 hours between 4pm and 4am Thur., Fri. and Sat. Also had to do 20 trips by Monday and accept 85% of your trips. I use a notepad to keep track of how many hours I was online and met all the qualifications but when I received my pay statement, my pay did not reflect the incentative. I emailed them why my pay statement did not reflect the incentative and they did not answer but one day later they deactivated me for my 4.56 rating. I will leave that at that. Also unless you work many hours behind the wheel, You will not make enough money for car maintenance and the pay is even lower when you take out the money for gas for the week. You will also find it hard to save money for your taxes at the end of the year. Unless you are going to spend all day every day behind the wheel, I do not recommend this for a full time job. I was going to get a job in December and drive for uber on Fridays and Saturdays but now that is not possible. Also in my first week I had a call for 2 underage passengers. I had to as uber what the policy was on this. The customer service agent told me that passengers under 18 had to be accompanied by a adult or the trip should be canceled. They said to inform them of any pickups where the passengers was under 18 with no adult. When I informed them, They responded that sometimes parents get rides for there kids. So I copied and pasted the first email and sent it to them to find out what was the right policy. They said that I did the right thing canceling the trip. Do not listen to everything they tell you. You may be getting the wrong story. I really wanted to know exactly how to handle underage passengers. They gave me 2 different stories.
