I have been working at Uline full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Sparkling clean building, good team work from co workers, fairly decent pay and benefits. 16 personal days off per year.

Cons

Micro management style; must have learned management from Kim Jong Il. A number of staff referred to upper management as "Dear Leaders."

Advice to Management

Micro management does not work. You kill peoples spirit this way. Me thinks it is a cruel streak within you.

    the training instructors are fantastic people
    the lower level employees are all some what young

    Cons

    micro-managed into dust
    surveillance
    unhealthy environment
    contradictory messages from management
    insecurity amongst mid-level managers
    they will fire you for updating your resume
    secrecy
    you must endure 90 days of customer service phone-strapped-to-temple cubicle work
    hypocrisy of "family" message
    completely objective and robotic in every faucet of judgement
    employee cliques
    15 minutes of bathroom usage given....per day and citations if exceeded

    Advice to Management

    I would recommend not grinding your employees into a fine powder with micro-management and monitoring their every breath. The 90 day customer service routine is a mental warfare that would drive anybody away from any company.

    Pros

    Growing company, great job security and incentives. The people are great too, I met some great friends here. The owners really invest in the employees and company so it continues to grow

    Cons

    Pay is a bit lower than it could be but again, great job security. It can be a "what have you done for me lately" environment.

    Advice to Management

    Share all the audits with the workers, thats the only way they can get better. Sometimes audits are done but not shared with the person being audited.
