Pros

Works around your schedule if your part-time

Cons

Depending on your manager it can be a great place to work. But if you get the manager from hell then its not a great place to woek

Advice to Management

Stop being so up tight make the environment fun

    I worked at Ulta Beauty full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Fun environment, always updating products with latest and greatest things on the market for the true beauty enthusiast. Benefits & 401K for management team, corporate loss prevention is outstanding. Was a joy to work for at one point, and probably still is providing the right corporate representatives of your particular store.

    Cons

    Difficult to move up the ladder, unless you befriend the DM.
    1 Beauty Consultant and 1 Cashier is all budget hours alot most of the time; very stressful to cover registers, loss prevention, and guest service.
    Checking out guests has turned into one big solicitation about surveys, rewards cards, magazines, suggesting salon services, etc.

    Advice to Management

    If half of the managers of a district have left after a district manager is switched into that district, please do not chalk it up to all of those general managers must have had poor performance. I can only hope that you are wise enough to take into consideration the other side of the coin.

    Pros

    posotive atmosphere,growth and development with in the retail and salon, opportunities for advancement within the company. Benefits packages are a plus, they are provided for salon and retail employees, whether full or part time. Ulta provides continuing education for all designers that are fashion forward and current with the newest color technologies and trends.

    Cons

    All salons need a salon cooridinator/receptionist, the guest experience is lacking due to designers having to perform duties that belong to a cooridinator. Management should work in unison and communicate all business practices each and every day.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your store level employees disgruntled or not, they are the core of your company, they are the business drivers and all feedback is useful, whether posotive or negative. I love this company and it's vision, I am excited to see it's growth.
