I have been working at Union Pacific full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good pay ok benefits but they are taking them year by year

    Cons

24/7 365 on call you have NO life this company preaches safety but only to cover their ass it's not for the employee. If you stay marked up after six days the feds say you must have three days off that is without pay and you don't get days off so the only way to get time off is to call in sick then they threaten you with your job if you call in six times in 90 days. I think this is the only job in the world that your ONLY accomplishment it to make it through your tour of duty without getting fired and not making it to your final terminal so you get paid more. because all this company looks for is failure there are NO at a boys good job or anything close to that. THIS company is 100% reactive NOT proactive

    Advice to Management

Why is EVERYTHING with this company based on failure there is NO positive attitude towards it's employees you treat your employees like crap you need to realize without the TE&Y there would be no revenue for the share holders if the freight don't move where does the money come from you need the train crews to make money for the share holders so why do you treat them so badly. You really need to talk to the crews and get some feed back it could really make this a better company. A happy employee is a good employee so far all you have done is MAKE disgruntle employees any employee besides the one's in Omaha that say their a happy employee is a lier
