Pros

Exciting, challenging work
Talented, enthusiastic co-workers
Opportunity to contribute to a historic space program
Good benefits until the last couple of years

Cons

No future for company once Space Shuttle program ended, expect it to be re-absorbed back into Lockheed Martin and Boeing

Advice to Management

Long time USA managers: Unfurl those golden parachutes
And send the Downsizing Expert CEO back to Boeing

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

The work enviroment is very cooperational. Concerns are encourged to be brought forward.
People are always willing to help you if run into a technical problem.

    Cons

The company is downsizing, benefits are being reduced and insurance cost are rising. The company is dependent on government contracts.

    Advice to Management

Do your best not to lose the "family" atmosphere as the company downsizes. Contemplate the future and expand beyond Government contracts.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

    Flexibility
    Life Balance
    Inherently interesting work (space operations)

    Cons

In an industry in turmoil (manned spaceflight)
Previous company qualities were in a government cost plus enviroment(past performance is no guarantee of future performance).
Parent companies (Boeing, Lockheed) determine what business USA can bid on.

    Advice to Management

USA must be far more successfull at getting new business. It will require spending some USA capitol not just getting NASA to invest. It is a new world in space and your engineers need to be enabled with industry standard tools i.e.COTS packages that cost money.
